How do you care for a performance thobe? The complete routine

Machine wash cold, tumble dry low, hang it up — that is the entire care routine for a Faraja garment. Engineered shrinkage under 2% and iron-free wrinkle recovery replace the dry-cleaning runs traditional fabrics demand.

The routine

Wash on cold with like colours. Tumble dry on low. Hang the garment when it comes out. The fabric’s heat-set polymer memory pushes wrinkles flat as it dries, so there is no ironing step and no pressing appointment.

That durability is tested, not hoped for: the stabilised construction holds shrinkage below 2% across repeated commercial wash-and-dry cycles under ISO 6330, keeping the drape, colour depth and collar structure intact.

What to avoid

High heat is the only enemy worth naming. Keep the dryer on low and any occasional touch-up press on a low setting, as with every technical synthetic. Dry-cleaning is never required — ending that routine was a design goal of the fabric, not a side effect.

Travel and storage

Fold or roll the garment for packing; creases relax once it hangs, usually from body heat alone. For everyday storage, hang it and the vertical loop structure holds its own line — no steaming ritual before Jumu’ah.
